The Hanshi was second place winner in the future category for making special events really special with an all-in-one solution for capturing, viewing, and printing memories. The Hanshi leverages the embeddable nature of the ZINK® Technology and integrates the system components to allow for the ultimate ease of capturing and sharing moments when they happen.

The ZINK Hanshi (Japanese for a special type of calligraphy paper) is an all-in-one solution for capturing the memories of important events. The ZINK Hanshi consists of six small digital cameras, and a portable monitor and printing unit. The unit is designed to be taken to special events and used to collect digital photographs, and allow those photos to be shared and printed as a memento of the occasion.

The ZINK Hanshi is intended to be used at any special event like a wedding, anniversary, birthday parties, baby showers, etc. The image station, or monitor/printer, can be setup in any area of the special event. The digital cameras are then removed from their dock at the back of the image station. These cameras are placed around the event for people to pick up and use. For an example, in the event of a wedding reception, the cameras could be placed at each reception table. The attendees can then take pictures of the event, through their perspective. Once a photo is taken, the image is instantly uploaded to the image station, via the wireless connection between the camera and image station.

Now that the images are in the image station, attendees can view their pictures and any others that have been taken. Through the touch screen interface, participants can simply scroll through the photographs. If they find an image they would like to keep as a memento of the event, they can touch the print button and see their picture instantly printed via the ZINK's Zero Ink Technology. Event planners would also have the option of ordering specially made ZINK paper with a personalized back, that makes the photo even more special. Once the event is over, the cameras are docked back into the image station, and the support foot folds up to be a carry handle.
